The GSDCA-WDA Helper Certification Program

The Helper Certification Program has been instituted by the GSDCA-WDA with the goal of providing education for Helpers and certification of Helpers at multiple levels of competence. The links below provide lists of GSDCS-WDA Certified Club, Regional, National and Teaching Helpers.

Overview

The program is supervised by the Helper Program Committee which will oversee the education and certification program for the GSDCA-WDA. Final certification authority for all certifications rests with the Board of Directors.
Four different categories of Helpers are recognized: Club Trial Helper, Regional Trial Helper, National Trial Helper, and Teaching Helper.

Certified WDA Trial and Teaching Helpers

Teaching Helpers

The Teaching Helper has the responsibility of teaching and certifying Helpers at the club, regional and national level. The Helper Program Committee may recommend new Teaching Helpers for approval by the GSDCA-WDA Board of Directors. Prospective candidates must attend a Trial Helper Certification event.

National Trial Helpers

A National Trial Helper has the responsibility of working in all three levels of protection work during a club, regional or national competition. To be certified an applicant must attend an official GSDCA-WDA certification event. All requirements must be successfully completed within a single event in order for certification to be granted.

Regional Trial Helpers

A Regional Trial Helper has the responsibility of working at all three levels of protection work during a club or regional competition. To become certified an applicant must attend an official GSDCA-WDA certification event. All requirements must be successfully completed within a single event in order for certification to be granted.

Club Trial Helpers

A Club Trial Helper has the responsibility of working in all three levels of protection work during a local club trial. To become certified an applicant must attend an official GSDCA-WDA certification event. All requirements must be successfully completed within a single event in order for certification to be granted.
